- I crossed $100 EPMV
I crossed $100 EPMV
Here is how you can too
It happened. I officially have crossed $100 EPMV (Earnings per 1,000 visitors) on one of my sites!

Check the far right column for the EPMV figure.
Yes- this is the average EPMV for an entire year. Here is the breakdown-
Feb ‘24- $101.91
Mar ‘24- $103.71
Apr ‘24- $91.85
May ‘24- $84.11
Jun ‘24- $89.95
Jul ‘24- $101.08
Aug ‘24- $80.48
Sep ‘24- $84.44
Oct ‘24- $100.61
Nov ‘24- $124.18
Dec ‘24- $118.95
Jan ‘25- $102.38
The best month was in November, with a whopping $124 EPMV. The worst month- August- was still not as bad at $80.
I always thought that to make a lot of money blogging, one needed millions of views per month from a tier 1 country.
This changed when I accidentally discovered that the niche that my site was in was, in fact, paying pretty well.
Going into this niche, I had prior experience in the field, which helped create high-quality content, but it wasn’t the niche alone that contributed to the $100 EPMV.
Here is what I did-
Focused on putting the user first and creating content that they would find relevant
Increased the font size to 20px to make it comfortable for readers on mobile
Used Interactivity Studio to increase average session duration and engagement rate (not sponsored btw).
Added a dark/light mode toggle so that users can pick what’s most comfortable for them while reading
Optimized the site speed and core web vitals (hard to do with Ezoic, tbh but I engaged with their customer support for this)
Wrote bite-sized 1-2 sentence paragraphs that are easier to read
Doubled down on traffic sources that had the highest EPMV (Bing/Yahoo for this site)
Doubled down on content targeting users from a specific state in the US (yes- EPMVs vary across U.S. states).
Created content based on commercial and transactional search intent keywords
Made my sidebar wider by 10%
Reduced the available ad placements and prioritized user experience.
Published more content in Q4 (Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec).
Yes, being in a niche that delivers a high EPMV did help.
And yes, being on Ezoic helped, too, since they had ad inventory for this niche that paid really well.
Don’t get me wrong- I hate Ezoic. The user experience sucks, your site speed will take a toll, and they will try to lock you in a 3-year contract.
I migrated all my sites except for this one away from Ezoic.
I kept this one because I knew that results could differ vastly for other ad networks.
So now, you might be wondering, what niche is this?
I plan to answer that in the next post in this newsletter.
Until then, if you have any questions or comments, I’d love to hear them!
Take care!
